CS346: Instructions for downloading Matlab (Authors: Eric Aaron and Randy Downer, Feb. 2020) ================================================= For CS346, you can download Matlab under Colby's Classroom License and use it on your own computer! (See your prof. about restrictions due to that license, but be assured none of the restrictions are relevant for your work in CS346.) You must have a Colby IP address for this Matlab download. The Matlab installer can be found on the Colby "filer" filesystem. On a Mac machine, go to "Connect to Server" and connect with smb://filer.colby.edu/Software on a Windows machine, get a command prompt ("Run") and connect with //filer.colby.edu/Software similar to how you've done that in previous classes. When that directory opens for you, go to either the Windows or Macintosh directory and find the MATLAB directory. Once there... - For the Windows version, open the README file and follow the instructions (which are a bit sparse). You'll need the installation key that's there (though not the activation key). To find the installer to run, go to the R2018a directory and run the "setup" application. - For the Mac version, open the README file and follow the instructions (which are a bit sparse). Download the Matlab2018b_licensed_64bits.pkg file to your desktop and run it; it should do the install from there. The installation key is given in the README file.
